When Be Kassapian picked up the Leatherhead Business Person of the Year award, it was a popular choice. A consummate networker and full of positivity, Be has created a lively young business which looks set to grow dramatically in 2016. It was the switch to focusing on healthy, wholesome food which made all the difference to the Effingham-based cookery school, Be In The Kitchen.
Be started four years ago, initially holding seasonal cookery demonstrations and workshops on basic knife skills, cake and bread making, but the model wasn’t working as she had anticipated. “As time went on, the workshops became exhausting,” recalls Be. “I was frustrated by a lack of energy, so started really learning about eating for health, and it has been a revelation.
